Our Quality

Bicycle Tube Quality

Inner Tubes can be made of rubber, butyl, and other compounds.  Most tubes on the market are a combination of butyl and oil based compounds.  The ratio of butyl to other compounds determines the elasticity, strength, and the weight of the Inner Tube.  Some very expensive and lightweight tubes have more butyl than oil compounds.  Cheap tubes have very little butyl and therefore are less stretchy and would have more defects.  The VeloTubes are very good quality with excellent elasticity and are more for every day use.  If you are looking for a good quality tube for training and daily use, our tubes are right in the sweet spot.

Materials:

We specify only the best materials for our tubes, beginning with a butyl rubber compound produced using a Banbury Mixing process.

Inspection Process:

After vulcanization, a 100% visual quality inspection is done along with a 24 hour inflation test.  If there is any leakage at all, the tube is rejected. Each tube is inspected for uniform shape, uniform wall thickness, cracks and defects.

Valves:

Our valves are of high quality, using brass material, and the joint and rubber seat area exceed industry standards for tensile strength.

We guarantee our tubes to be free from valve leaks and other manufacturing defects when they are delivered to you.
